A history of accelerating yields.
When Reuben Sansgaard participated in an early FFA project growing and selling open-pollinated seed corn, it reinforced his interest in agronomy. By 1942, Reuben returned home to take over his family’s farming operation, and he started purchasing Iowa State University’s public soybean varieties. From these beginnings grew Sansgaard Seed Farms, Inc., now known as Prairie Brand.
Today, Prairie Brand is a major seed company that markets seed corn, soybeans, alfalfa and specialty seed across western Corn Belt states through more than 400 dealers.
Fourth-generation farmer and Prairie Brand CEO Brian Sansgaard continues the family tradition of delivering dedicated customer service and top-quality, high-yielding seed to the company’s growing customer base.
In 2011, Prairie Brand joined the Dow AgroSciences family. The purchase combines the local expertise of Prairie Brand with the global reach and research of Dow AgroSciences.
